A standardised mango leaf extract sold as a non-stimulant alternative to caffeine for mental energy. Unusually for a branded ingredient, some of the research comes from independent academic groups.

What it is
Zynamite is a patented extract of Mangifera indica leaves, standardised to mangiferin, a polyphenol found throughout the mango tree and particularly concentrated in the leaves.
Mango leaves have a history of use in Ayurvedic and traditional practice, though not specifically for the cognitive purposes the extract is now sold for.
Its positioning is as a caffeine alternative: mental energy and alertness without the jitteriness, cardiovascular effects or sleep disruption. Unlike most of the branded ingredients in this category, some of the supporting work comes from university research groups rather than solely from the producer.
How it works
Mangiferin appears to influence brain electrical activity in a pattern associated with alertness, measurable by EEG, without acting on adenosine receptors the way caffeine does.
That difference in mechanism is the basis for the claim of alertness without the stimulant side effects, and it is a genuine mechanistic distinction rather than a marketing one.
There is also research on effects on muscle recovery and on oxidative stress after exercise, and on the interaction between mangiferin and quercetin, which have been studied together.
What the evidence shows
Trials have reported improvements in reaction time, attention and measures of mental fatigue, with EEG changes consistent with increased alertness. Some of this work comes from independent university groups, which is unusual in this category and worth noting.
There is also research on exercise recovery, with reports of reduced muscle damage markers and improved performance in repeated sprint efforts.
The overall body of work is still modest in size, and some of it remains producer-linked. But the mixture of independent involvement and a coherent mechanism puts Zynamite on firmer ground than most branded ingredients, and its evidence grade reflects that.
Dosing
Typical range is 150 to 300 mg, with 200 to 300 mg used in most of the cognitive research. Effects are reported acutely, within an hour or so.
It is often combined with quercetin, and the two have been studied together in exercise contexts.
Because it does not act on adenosine receptors, it can reasonably be taken later in the day without the sleep disruption caffeine causes. That is its clearest practical advantage and the main reason to consider it over caffeine rather than alongside it.
