Branded IngredientsEmerging evidence
A purine alkaloid from the same tea as theacrine, sold as its faster-acting counterpart. Almost always paired with caffeine, and with a research base that is small and single-source.

What it is
Dynamine is the branded form of methylliberine, a purine alkaloid found in kucha tea alongside theacrine. The two are structurally related and come from the same plant.
The proposition is speed. Theacrine has a slow onset of an hour or more; methylliberine is claimed to act within 15 to 30 minutes and to clear faster, making it the short-acting member of the family.
It is almost never sold alone. Products typically combine it with theacrine, caffeine, or both, on the basis that the three have staggered onsets and durations. That is a reasonable formulation idea and also makes it very hard to know what Dynamine itself is contributing.
How it works
Like caffeine and theacrine, methylliberine is proposed to act on adenosine receptors, blocking the signal that promotes sleepiness.
Its shorter duration is attributed to faster metabolism and clearance compared with theacrine, which has an unusually long action.
As with theacrine, it is proposed not to cause the receptor changes that drive caffeine tolerance. That claim rests on very little direct evidence for methylliberine specifically, and is largely extended from what has been shown for theacrine.
What the evidence shows
Human research is limited. A small number of trials, largely funded by the ingredient's producer, have examined it alone and combined with theacrine and caffeine, reporting effects on subjective energy, focus and mood.
Safety and tolerability studies have reported no significant effects on heart rate or blood pressure at the doses used, which is the more solid part of the evidence.
Because it is nearly always studied and sold alongside caffeine, isolating its contribution is genuinely difficult. Treat it as a speculative addition to a caffeine base rather than as something with a demonstrated effect of its own.
Dosing
Typical range is 100 to 200 mg, taken 15 to 30 minutes before the session. It is used at lower doses when combined with theacrine.
Common formulations pair it with theacrine at roughly a 2:1 or 1:1 ratio, sometimes with caffeine on top, aiming for staggered onset and duration.
Be clear about the value proposition. Caffeine is cheap, has an enormous independent evidence base and works. Dynamine is expensive and speculative. If you are experiencing caffeine tolerance, a two-week break resets it for nothing.

Safety and side effects
Dynamine has been well tolerated in the trials conducted, without the elevations in heart rate and blood pressure that stimulants often produce.
Those safety studies come largely from the same source as the efficacy work, and the total volume of human data is small.
Because it is almost always taken with caffeine, count the caffeine toward your daily total. Speak to your doctor before use if your heart rhythm or blood pressure is being managed, or if you take regular medication.
Who should avoid it
Speak to your doctor before use if your heart rhythm or blood pressure is being managed, or if you take regular medication. Count any accompanying caffeine toward your daily total. Not established in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Not suitable for under-18s.
